We See You
For everyone working through the holidays in hospitality and tourism
Hello.
I’m skipping the usual format this week.
No links. No tips. No “here’s what you should be doing right now.” Because this season looks different for people in hospitality and tourism.
While a lot of the world slows down, things speed up for you.
More guests. More questions. More expectations. Less margin for error.
And often, less rest.
There’s a kind of work that happens this time of year that doesn’t get acknowledged much.
The extra shift covered.
The problem you fixed before it became a problem.
The calm you bring into moments that arrive charged with emotion.
Guests don’t always see that part, the timing, the coordination, the human effort behind the moment.
They remember the holiday. The meal. The room. The trip.
But those moments only work because someone on the other side held everything together, in a kitchen, on the road, behind a counter, on a trail, or quietly behind the scenes.
So this note is just to say: we see you.
We see the effort it takes to show up steady when things are busy.
We see the care you bring into spaces where people arrive carrying joy, stress, grief, and expectation all at once.
No advice today. No next steps.
Just appreciation.
Thank you for doing work that asks a lot of you, especially this time of year.
Cheers to you,
Kay
